What is CalDav?

CalDav is a protocol that allows you to sync your calendar data across different devices and applications. You can use CalDav to connect your Zimbra calendar with other calendar apps such as Android Calendar, iOS Calendar, iCal, Outlook, etc.

How to configure Zimbra calendar from a CalDav client?

To connect your Zimbra calendar with a CalDav client, you need to follow these steps:

  • Find out your Zimbra email address and password. These are the same credentials you use to log in to Zimbra webmail or app.
  • Find out your Zimbra mail server FQDN (Fully Qualified Domain Name). This is the domain name of the server that hosts your Zimbra account. It can be either mail.x2x.cloud or your custom domain, depending on how your Zimbra account was set up.
  • Find out the URL of your Zimbra calendar. This is the web address that identifies your calendar on the Zimbra server. It has the following format:

    https://mail.x2x.cloud/dav/CalendarNAME

where USERNAME is your Zimbra email address and CalendarNAME is the name of your calendar (such as Personal, Work, etc.).
  • Open your CalDav client app and add a new account. Choose CalDav as the account type and enter the following information:
    • Username: your Zimbra email address
    • Password: your Zimbra password
    • Server: your Zimbra mail server FQDN
    • URL: your Zimbra calendar URL
  • Save the account and wait for the sync to complete. You should see your Zimbra calendar events appear on your CalDav client app. You can also create, edit, delete, move, or dismiss events from either app and they will be synced with the Zimbra server.
